My truck was made basically out of cherry and walnut, with a little maple and oak thrown in. Also, the seats I made from Wenge so that they would appear to be black, and the steering wheel I made out of bubinga as an accent piece. I finished the whole project with Danish Oil.
Although I could turn the wheels I decided that it would be better if I purchased some so that I could be sure they would be identical. I found some online that were exactly the correct size, 3"x1" with a 3/8" hole, and they had groves to simulate treads. They didn't have as deep a hub as in your plans and although I could have drilled them deeper I decided to just modify the hubs. I then painted the hubs white. I also painted the tires and back mud flaps black.

Hi I bought the plans for this model some time ago and have now got round to finally making it I found it to be quite challenging but rewarding. I did however put some of my own ideas into it such as the Wheels and the addition of a Cissy's Seat to which I hope you approve. These were great plans to work to and I will now turn my attention to making the Buffalo Fire Engine. I have attached some photos of my attempt at making the motorcycle and hopefully they are good enough to put on your site.

I have just completed your C.O.E Plan #21. This project took approximately five months, working on and off. Your detailed wood plans were very accurate and easy to follow. Thank you for giving me many enjoyable and challenging hours of fun.

I finished the grader and it was a tough one but I enjoyed making it. Keeps my brain from getting rusty. I just turned 70. … I am amazed at how you can draw the things and keep all the measurements going right. You do a good job.

Earlier this year, I built my second COE wood model from your excellent wood plans. This wood model was for my own collection, and I really took care to make every piece correct.

I entered this one in the 1996 California State Fair for competition of handcraft items. I earned two awards – FIRST PLACE and BEST OF CLASS. It was on public display throughout the 16 day run of the Fair and was well received. …I should share at least half of the prize with you as it’s your wood design and your suggested colors! The judges comment “A piece that expresses all the care and attention you paid. Very appreciated is that attention to detail and quality of finish flows throughout the piece.”

… Thanks again for your great wood plan!

I just finished your cab-over-engine tractor and let me say it was hours of great pleasure. I found it hard to leave my shop once I started.

The wood plans were very detailed and easy to follow. This was the first time I’ve built anything from plans, but yours looked so interesting, I had to try. All my other projects I do from “scratch” by seeing something I want to build, draw up my own plans, and go from there.

I have enclosed some photographs of the recently completed 30T Mac truck, 12T trailer, and the backhoe/front loader. As per usual, they turned out extremely well, thanks to the completeness of your wood plans. Keep ’em comin’!

… In over 50 years of woodworking, I have worked with many different designers of wood plans for both scale and non-scale vehicles, boats and planes, including my own. Yours are definitely superior due to the level of included detail and the precision of your instructions.

I want to thank you again for an excellent set of wood plans. I enjoyed the challenge making the model and have received many complements.

This was not my first fire truck model, but the first with as much detail.

I got a lot of great comments on my tractor. I gave it to my grandson for a keepsake. I have wood plans for the dump truck

Harold M. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bet you get a lot of these and why not. Your wood plans are just so detailed, so easy to follow and the results are fabulous. I really enjoyed making these and the viewer comments are unbelievable.

I made the CABOVER TRACTOR RIG first. It was made as a request of my son-in-law, who wanted to give it to his father. … I gave it to my son-in-law in July – he was so overwhelmed that he really wanted to keep it. However, he finally gave it to his father in November. I received a thank you note from his father saying it was a “gift of a lifetime.”

I then wanted to make the DUMP TRUCK for myself, as it is very similar to one that I drove from my father in the 1950s. … It gets rave reviews and was even written up in my hometown newspaper. I wood plan to build another CABOVER for myself very soon.

Thanks again and keep up the good designs.

Mrs Beryl Farrance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Here are some pictures of your Stage Coach made by Mr Ramon Farrance, Glemsford Suffolk UK . This was bought for him by his Grandson Danny. He has spent many happy hours making this. He was a machine tool engineer for his whole career, so enjoyed working out all the measurements. Making the wheels in the traditional way, where the spokes don’t come through the rim. He wanted to show you the finished product.
